Soon

Christmas is just around the corner and we have so many changes!  I can't wait to tell you more about them!  For now, I am just enjoying these simple moments with the kids in between the crazy moments of the holidays.  Her laugh is contagious!

Animals

Even in the games she is taking care if animals.

Simple Saturdays

Even on the weeks where it seems we are all sick, there are always moments to treasure and remember.  This moment took us a whole  hour to gear up for and lasted about 10 minutes.  At least we got outside for the day, a simple goal of ours.

Where we've been

Well hello!   It has been a while so let me quickly catch you up.
First, I went on girls weekend.  This is a tradition of ours. Every year me and four of my girlfriends leave our kiddos and husbands behind and head to the mountains for some r&r.

My kids are ready for Christmas  and busted out the Christmas stuff, literally the day after halloween.

We also found this AWESOME park and played there for quite some time.  We can't wait to go back!

I went the the Book of Mormon it was awesome!

Harper and I turned an old dress of hers into a skirt.  She did all the cutting by herself.  It turned out super cute.  She choose the length herself

I have been doing a whole lot of chasing after this guy he is so wild.  I love it!

Playing the piano

Lastly we have been sick.  Huck had it bad and now poor Fisher.  Harper seems very blessed in this area and really rarely gets sick.  I did the same stuff with each kid, so I am not sure why she is better then the boys.  Poor little guys they get so, so sick when they are sick.  It is like that with everything with these boys, nothing is half hearted and they take everything to the extreme and I guess being sick goes right along with that.

Side note:  isn't he huge!  He weighs three pounds less then Harper.  I am convinced he will have both Harper and Huck beat by the time he hits two

More picture of Fisher being crazy before he was sick.

Halloween

I hope you guys had a good one.  It was super hard to get photos of the kids because they were on the go so much!  The picture of a blurry batman running is Fisher, he figured out this holiday real quick and he loves chocolate.  He would never put the candy in his bag and put it right into his mouth with the wrapper still on!   Harper lead the way, she could of kept going much longer!  Huck was in his costume since six a.m.  He was ready and excited to say the least!

Now it feels like home

Harper was begging for her bed when we moved to my parents.  We had it at our old house for staging and to be honest I had no plans to bring it to my parents and set it up.  She was insistent though and the second we finished setting it up she said "ah, now it feels like home".  We have tried hard to do little things to make them as comfortable as possible.  Here is their beds.  Harper sleeps with a ton of things and she knows if one is missing,  I showed her this picture and she said "uh but where's Una (a unicorn of hers)? She is not in there. "
She also sleeps with a impossible amount of blankets. The more the better, this is just some of her blankets and she is always asking me to make her more.

I had been looking for a big girl bed for months for Harper.  I had a different idea all together of what kind of bed I wanted for her, but one day when I was scrolling through Craigslist, she saw this one and gasped.  She had to have it, it was the one!   We couldn't deny her excitement so Alex headed out in the rain, late at night to get it for her.  It has been perfect for her.

Huck, to be honest, doesn't sleep in his bed much he prefers to be with people all the time.  He usually has a few stuffed animals to start out with, but not nearly as much as her.  He also is not a blanket person.  If you try and sneak a blanket on him, he will wake up right away and yell "No! No blankets!"  The blankets are usually used to tuck in his stuffed animals.  It is rare, but sometimes he will want a blanket so I still make him some.

So this is their room in a very rare state of clean and no forts on their beds. Sometimes the little things help the most.

Company

The best company a girl could ask for on her walk.  Yes, I'll hold you hand while you bike too, great idea!  Quite possibly the sweetest boy.

What are you working on Wednesdays!

These aren't the best pictures I admit but it is what I have for now. I will get better ones when it is 100 0/0 done.  Here is the start of Hucks quilt.

Hello!

Well hello there!  It has been a very busy week with sick Kids and Husband.  Therefore the blog got left behind.  Lets catch up on our week!  First it has been colder here so the kids whipped out the old hand knits.
Yes yes not the best picture but I challenge anyone to get a good pic of all three of my kids!

Next I was visited by a serious super hero whose specialty was jumping super high

Then we saw a Horse at our friends where where I was to work on Hucks quilt.

Then I realized that my brown haired little boy turned blonde.  Seriously how did that happen?

And now it is snowing again

How was your week?

First snow

Huck says his favorite season is winter.  As someone who loves summer this is a hard concept for me to grasp.  It does make snow so much more enjoyable though.  For weeks he has been talking about catching snowflakes with his tongue and going sledding.  He has made sure we got our sled out of storage and has all sorts of plans for the different types of snowmen he wants to make.  He can last for hours in the cold.  It doesn't bug him one bit.  Harper, not so much, she tolerates for a little but is always the first to come in.  For the past few years whenever it snowed Huck was convinced it was Christmas.  I can't tell you how's my times I woke up to a large gasp and a whisper yell of "Mom it's snowing! It's CHRISTMAS!!!!!"  This year he didn't do this.  He is getting older.  Happy first snow.  I hope that in your next snow instead of focusing on how cold you are, or how much it sucks to drive in the snow, you take the time to catch a snowflake in your mouth.  There really is nothing better.

What are you working on Wednesday!

Harper's Birthday quilt!  Oh man this quilt was my very first quilt that I have ever done and it was so much fun to do!  I had Harper pick her quilt style out and, to be honest, at first I was a little sad.  I really wanted her to choose this other style but she was adamant and I am so glad that she was.
What I did was went to a bunch of fabric stores and picked out whatever ones reminded me of her.  I didn't worry about colors or styles, if it reminded me of her I got a 1/8 of a yard. When she was with me, she picked out some herself.  I also put in some fabric from old clothes and dresses of hers.  I then simply cut the strips 4 inches wide. Harper also choose this width, she was four at the time we started.  I did random lengths and then sewed them all together.  It went much faster then I thought.
I took Harper with me to pick up the fabric for the back and the binding.  She is so adamant and clear about her choices, we differ so much in this area.  When she choose the binding color, I asked her numerous times are you sure? Yes, yes she was sure.   She was right, it came together perfect and at just four, Harper has a much better eye then me.  Her and I sewed a lot of this together.  She wanted to be a part of everything, from which fabric goes next to which,to sewing it together on my lap.  Her favorite task was pinning the pieces together, which happens to be my least favorite task so it worked perfectly.   I love the fabric we choose they all remind me so much of her.  Lots of animals,  hearts, pinks and purples.  Once I got the quilt top done, I went to a good friends and with the help of her mother,  it was all sewed together.  These ladies are so talented when it comes to anything craft, so I always look forward to spending the day with them sewing.
This was Harper's big gift for her birthday.  I am always glad that I take the time to make them something homemade for their big days.  The other morning Harper came up and told me "Mom I love my new blanket, it makes me want to make lots and lots with you!"  I do agree my sweet girl!
